Sales Tax Reporting

With the ever-increasing complexity of local, regional, state, provincial and federal sales tax rules and regulations, the HBS Sales Tax Reporting (STR) system makes calculating, collecting and remitting sales tax a breeze. As a fully integrated part of the HBS Enterprise Dealership Management System running under NetView, STR provides a complete, online audit trail from the originating transaction to the accrual account on your general ledger. Transactions processed through Parts, Service, and Wholegood/Unit Point-of-Sale are recorded and stored online for easy access and retrieval.  When it's time to prepare reports and remit taxes, the system generates standard reports including a detailed Sales Tax Audit Report (see Sample Reports below) which provides detailed analysis of each line item making up the total sales tax collected.   A Sales Tax Remittance Report is also produced showing the amounts due to each taxing authority for ease of remittance.

Destination-Based Sales Tax Calculation for Strealined Sales Tax States (US Only)   

Fully automated, Destination-Based Sales Tax calculation is an optional feature available to US Dealerships operating in states that have joined the Streamlined Sales Tax initiative. This powerful capability provides an integrated database of address specific tax rates so the system can automatically calculate and collect the correct sales tax based on the specific physical address where the taxable items will be delivered.  This can be a huge timesaver at the point-of-sale and can also help eliminate costly mistakes and penalties in the event of a sales tax audit. 

Attach Photos, Videos, Invoices, Diagrams, or Handwritten Notes to GL Accounts & Journals

One of the most costly aspects of hiring new personnel is building up the knowledge base it takes to be an effective bookkeeper. Fixed Asset Management with Automatic Depreciation

Another popular function within the General Ledger system is the Fixed Asset Management application.  This application provides a complete solution to manage, track and depreciate fixed assets for your dealership. Choose from straight-line or double-declining balance depreciation methods. Either way, the Fixed Asset Management system will automatically calculate and make the proper entries to the General Ledger control accounts established by your dealership.
